About me

Daniel Lewis

I’m a fully qualified primary teacher with over 8 years’ experience in both public and independent London schools, including serving as Head of Year and on the leadership team. Known for my warmth, creativity, and clarity, I’ve helped countless children achieve beyond expectation. I founded my tutoring practice to give pupils the benefits of expert, personalised teaching - without the distractions or compromises of the classroom - so they can truly flourish with confidence when learning.

Why Families Choose Me

Proven Track Record

I have consistently enabled pupils to surpass expectations in KS2 SATs and secure places through 11+ entrance exams.

Premium Teaching Expertise

My approach fuses the rigour of classroom leadership with the precision and adaptability of bespoke one-to-one mentoring.

Whole-Child Approach

I nurture mastery beyond test results, developing confidence, critical thinking, and a genuine love of learning in every pupil.

Making a Lasting Positive Impact on your Child

My teaching style is engaging, fun, and firm, a combination that makes students feel both motivated and supported. As one student shared:

“He’s an inspiration of a teacher. He motivates you to do your best, makes everything fun and engaging, yet in a way that helps you strive to be better.” – Hettie

Parents also notice the difference:

“Thank you for seeing all of Rose and understanding her like no other teacher she had before.” – Rose’s parents

I believe in building real connections with my students. For me, teaching isn’t only about lessons, it’s about making each child feel seen, valued, and capable of achieving more than they thought possible. As one of my colleagues once said:

“The pupils Daniel has taught come to love being in his classes. They didn’t just learn from Dan—they connected with him. He makes every student feel important, whether they’re struggling or soaring.”

My Promise to You

When your child joins my programme, they don’t just get a tutor for an hour a week. They receive:

Individualised learning plans tailored to their goals

Weekly marked homework with constructive feedback

Curated small group sessions (or 1:1, if preferred) designed for focus and measurable progress

Progress reports each term so you can see results clearly

The reassurance that I am DBS-checked, professionally trained, and fully committed to safeguarding.

Whether it’s preparing for the 11+ or simply building the confidence to thrive at secondary level, I aim for more than short-term results. My goal is to equip every child with the skills, resilience, and love of learning that will serve them far beyond exams.
